Chelsea FC stay at Westcliff Hotel

In 2009, just last year John Terry led his Chelsea team to Southend, Essex where they were drawn to play against Southend United.

The team arrived at 7pm to an announcement; the game had sadly been cancelled due to fog. Luckily for the boys, 10 minutes later they received another message, the murk had lifted and the game was back on. Chelsea went on to find a victory against our local Southend United, enjoying a 4-1 win.

During their time spent in Southend-on-Sea, the whole team joined team manager Felipe Scolari for lunch in our hotel restaurant, The Westcliff Hotel. The team chose to dine and enjoy the views of Southend and the Estuary.

The team were delighted with their dining experience here with us; In particular, Didier Drogba and John Terry looked like they enjoyed the classic Southend fish and chips. We were very happy to see each individual enjoy our food and service so much that they were enthusiastic about coming to visit our hotel again.
